Healing refers to the balancing of one’s energy. We certainly understand that when we feel a sense of balance that we can accomplish anything that is before us. It is also understood that sometimes we need the support of another.
Hippocrates the “Father of Modern Medicine” said “It is believed by experienced doctors that the heat which oozes out of the hand, on being applied to the sick, is highly salutary. It has often appeared, while I was soothing my patients.”
Something truly happens when you offer loving support, healing energy, positive aspirations or even prayers to someone. Their spirit begins to lift and shift into something less overwhelming than the pain or grief they were originally feeling. Not only do they feel better (because you care), but as the practitioner of this loving energy, you start to feel better, too.
He goes on to say “by laying of hands on the affected parts, aches and diverse impurities that a singular property in my hands pulls or draws away” the impurities. Haven’t you seen this yourself when you have assisted someone in need? A gentleness begins to flow through you as if some invisible force is present.
Over the last several weeks, I have heard that many people are battling physical ailments and illnesses that are overwhelming and devastating. Because of this, I wanted to include in this week’s publication the words of my dear mentor and teacher, the late Tullia Forlani Kidde.
Her poem was created after she confronted an onslaught of physical difficulties that ultimately ended her physical experience in 2007, but she truly lives on just as she taught me. Not only through her love, but through her words. Please use these words as a guide to navigate your present illness, situation, condition, fears or woes. It just might help.
Father, Mother, God by Rev. Tullia Forlani Kidde
I bring to You my suffering, my pain and my body.
I leave it all to You and I ask You to take charge for me and do whatever needs to be done.
I bring to You my mistakes of the past that were done
for the lack of understanding of Your Divine love and divine purpose.
I bring to You my darkness so that You may fill it with light.
I bring to You my fear of living, dying and letting go.
Guide me so that I may release them in peace to You.
I surrender to You my will, my wants, my fears and ask you to be as always,
my friend, my compassion, my guide, and my comfort.
Father, Mother, God,
May I be cleansed from all misunderstandings
and may I be received in my healing and my sickness just as I am, a child of Yours.
Have mercy on me.
Eternally Your Child
