The Life of a Medium
1 Corinthians 12:4 says “There different kinds of spiritual gifts, but the same Spirit gives them. There are different ways of serving, but the same Lord is served. There are different abilities to perform service, but the same God gives ability to everyone for their particular service. The Spirit’s presence is shown in some way in each person for the good of all.”
What defines a gift? Is it the passion that is ignited within or a spark of awareness of who and what we are or is there something given from God to one person to do a particular job? Or, is it a combination of many things that define a gift?
I think that each and every one of us has been blessed with a gift. Maybe that gift stems from our passion and compassion. Maybe it stems from our faith or our joy. When we stand in our truth (and it’s not always easy), we reach a state of consciousness or awareness that allows the person within to emerge fully forward, to truly be seen.
I’ve heard many people say that they think “Mediums” have a gift. Really? Mediums have a gift? Why, because they communicate with heaven or deceased loved ones? When we speak about mediumship, aren’t we are talking about everyone? Doesn’t everyone whisper a word or two to their departed loved ones? “Mom, can you hear my prayer? Dad, I love you. Joey, I am glad you’re safe in heaven. Brenda, please send me a sign.” We all have inner conversations and quiet moments of spiritual communication. The gift is not that you can talk to them the gift is that you do talk to them.
The journey of a medium is no different than that of a painter or a singer or someone who believes in something within themselves. For the great painters of the world, or the great singers of the world or the amazing compassionate crusaders of the world, all possess something within themselves that allows this “gift” to shine through. But, the gift belongs to all.
It is true that the road is not simple. We live in a world where judgment is easier to attain than peace or even acceptance, or love for that matter. When are we going to see that everyone has a spark of divinity within them? Any change that is needed creates a ripple effect and it starts in one person. One person possesses the ability to create positive shifts by honoring their inner light.
So, it isn’t the gift that makes the person, it’s the person that makes the gift.
With Loving Kindness,
